Prepare a digital product for the printing press in Italy

"In designing and manufacturing a product for the digital print, is perhaps the most important part of project preparation for the print shop. At this stage we have to analyze technical factors, to prevent all possible problems and be very clear on print requests. In this short article, there are some simple tips and tricks to better prepare our work. The article will refer to Adobe Indesign, emerging program for the printing press, fresh and integrated into the Creative Suite with Photoshop and Illustrator.
The first problems to be solved are those related to the management of color and graphics. In particular, it is necessary that all raster files are processed a CMYK color profile and at least 300 dpi resolution , so do file downloaded from the network because their resolution is too low and the jpeg compression is too strong, this involves halos and jagged in the printed product in most cases.

Dopo questi passaggi diciamo “manuali” si passa alle funzioni automatiche di Indesign che ci risolvono un sacco di problemi. Grazie alla funzione Preflight (File -> Preflight) , program highlights problems caused by missing or damaged fonts, missing images and incorrect color profiles, manually corrected these problems once you switch into the Package (File -> Package) , which creates a folder with everything needed for the print shop. Anche se il formato pdf è molto buono è sempre meglio evitare di consegnare solo quest’ultimo alla tipografia, in quanto possono nascere dei problemi di trasparenza e di gestione colore che rovinerebbero la stampa.
A questo punto non rimane che masterizzare un cd/dvd con tutta la cartella elaborata dal Indesign incluso il pdf. Sul supporto scrivere: il proprio nome, il proprio cellulare, un titolo per il lavoro e la data di consegna. Imbustare e portare in tipografia.
In tipografia chiedere una stampa di prova, una data di consegna e sempre sempre sempre un preventivo PRIMA di andare in stampa."
Qualche giorno fa circolava voce che Lucky Red con un’accordo con Studio Ghibli avrebbe distribuito cinema/home video tutto il catalogo della casa nipponica. La notizia è stata ridimensionata dall’ufficio stampa Lucky Red ma comunque è importante per gli amanti della Studio Ghibli .
"La dichiarazione di qualche giorno fa, rilasciata da Gualtiero Cannarsi, circa la distribuzione dell’intero catalogo dello Studio Ghibli da parte della Lucky Red è stata notevolmente ridimensionata dallo stesso autore.
Per ora la Lucky Red si accinge a distribuire SOLAMENTE “ Tonari no Totoro "November 14, 2008 at the cinema and then on DVD for home video.
