This year, during the new edition of Lucca Comics & Games will be organized Lucca Project Contest, a competition that aims to foster dialogue between authors and publishers, offering the opportunity to make their own, original comic book project.

1. To facilitate the matching between publishers and authors and promoting the circulation of ideas in the Italian publishing, Lucca Comics & Games in collaboration by Panini Comics and the Fondazione Banca del Monte di Lucca, Lucca organizes Project Contest, a competition for designs of comic book stories.
2. The project must be submitted by its author (or its authors). We will not accept projects proposed by organizations (publishers, schools of comics, etc..) Or who already enjoy the support, financial or otherwise, by such organizations.

5. The project must be submitted in two versions, paper and electronics. The electronic version must be submitted together with the printed version, on physical media (CD ROM, DVD or floppy). There is no possibility to submit the project via e-mail.

Projects must be submitted by mail, courier or hand delivered to the address Lucca Comics & Games - Project Contest, because of Cavallerizza 11, 55100 Lucca no later than Friday, September 26, 2008 (in case Delivery by mail is the postmark). A committee will select the projects admitted to the final stage, a maximum number of fifteen. The authors of the selected projects will be promptly notified by mail, telephone or email, and will be credited for all five days of Lucca Comics & Games.
7. All projects for the competition will be exhibited in their basic elements, in a special gallery of projects within Lucca Comics & Games.
8. For the purpose of the exhibition at the fair, the graphics must be attached in the form of reproductions as faithful as possible to the originals (eg color reproductions in the case of color plates) in two formats 21x29, 7 cm. (A4) for studies of the characters and cards and 29.7 x42 cm. (A3) for tables. It is also advised to submit the originals, of any size they are, in the discussion.
9. The discussion of the projects in front of the jury will take place behind closed doors during the course of Lucca Comics & Games, and now on to communicate. Each candidate will have a set time, depending on the number of competing projects, but not more than ten minutes to present the project both verbally and visually. The proponents undertake to be present at the presentation, under penalty of disqualification. Any delegation must be notified to the Organization.
10. The jury will nominate the winner and give two more projects with a special mention. The three identified projects will be entitled to a public presentation at the meeting room of Lucca Comics.
11. The winners will have a year to complete their projects. Lucca Comics & Games, along with Panini Comics, shall bear the costs of printing of the register containing the finished work to be presented in the 2009 edition of the event. The exact specifications of the register, the deadline and any other details concerning the publication will be agreed jointly by the Organisation of Lucca Comics & Games, Panini Comics and the winners of the Contest, shall be governed by a regular publishing contracts and will vary according to the nature of the winning project. A section of the register will be dedicated to the projects mentioned.
12. The winners will receive a cash prize of 1800 € (eighteen hundred Euros). The premium is subject to completion of the cartoon for publication, according to the schedule and procedures set out in the publishing contract.
13. If the winners, for whatever reason, are no longer with the commitments agreed at the design stage of the register, the right to publish decade.
14. The projects will not be returned. On this basis, and is outlined in Articles 4 and 8, Reiterates its call not to send originals.
15. All matters not provided for in this Regulation is an interpreter and judge the final Board of Lucca Comics & Games, which will have to pay only via registered letter, any notices, claims, etc.., Not later than fifteen days the date of the end of the event.
